I'm a bit split on it: Even though it's very interesting and impressive to see that much stylistic variation, at the end of the day, we're still getting a 1950s space opera chick even if she's drawn in the style of different people. I mean, those variations don't strongly affect her design beyond her morphology, so I feel there's some missed potential there.
Typically, I think it's pretty rare for characters who have been frequently redesigned and updated to always harken back to a precise cultural era with that much consistency: Except for the Magical Girl version of your OC, none of them seem really representative of their respective era. They're all more 1950s than anything else.
So it's certainly good practice and an ambitious display of graphic versatility on your part, but I don't think that the format of a historical chronology was best suited to it.

I made these for fun, so there wasn't a whole lot of deeper thought put into it other than, "wouldn't it be cool if...?"

I did realize that the suit was sort of stuck in its own period/design pretty early, but because I had 8 full images to illustrate, I didn't spare it much extra thought outside of small revisions.  I attempted to sort of give it little variations that were a little time-specific (most notably in the "Snow White" inspired one with a little more skin coverage, a silly skirt, and bubble shoulder guards) -- To be fair, there really aren't many 1930s Space Girl designs to really go by to make something a little more period accurate.  I did look, but the iconic 1950s style (and the suit I already established) was kind of all I could find.

You're right, it's rare for characters to always harken back to a specific design, but I don't feel that there have been many characters who have been redesigned so many times in history... I mean, Mickey Mouse, for example, has worn the same red shorts for his entire legacy.  Sometimes they give him clothes, but his iconic go-to look is big goofy yellow shoes and red shorts.

Green Lantern, who the Astro Babe Coalition of Law Enforcement draws inspiration from, first appeared in 1959.  While his mantle has been held by many, he continues to reappear as the representative of the Green Lantern Corps and his costume is largely the same, albeit with a few simple tweaks.

Again, these were made strictly for fun -- I didn't think much further than, "people might enjoy seeing her in a Betty and Veronica style!"

Glad you sort of like them, cheers.

I totally get that, it's just that, since it's presented in a chronological manner, I was expecting more drastic variations on a general theme, but it's already fairly varied and that's pretty rare.

It is glorious! You have really managed to capture the atmosphere and feeling of what each of them was inspired by, as well as incorporating that classic Danika feel. The result is both beautiful and very cute, but it is also quite amusing. One can tell that you had a lot of fun making these, and it feels like a proper treat to your fans. All in all, well done! :)

"A proper treat to the fans"!  That's high-praise and definitely what I was hoping for, so I'm glad it reached that level!

I did have a lot of fun, yes -- they were good practice for me -- got real used to my tablet by the end.

So yeah, thank you for the kind comments! I'm pleased everyone is so happy!

Oh, you most definitely reached that level! The concepts were brilliant and the execution fantastic.

Your are pleased that we are happy, and I think I speak for a lot of us when I say that we are in turn happy that you are pleased :)

Understandble, and entirely justified.

I knew you had something interesting up your sleeve, but I definitely didn't think it'd be something like this! How you managed to so masterfully switch between eight different styles is beyond me. You've done an excellent job here, sir. An excellent job!

As for my favorite, I can't really decide. On one hand,  the last two remind me of my childhood, but on the other hand, something about the first one makes me happy. Maybe it's because I'm a bit of a fan of old cartoons. Regardless, they're all great!

Lots and lots of reference and cheating, haha!  But thank you so much ;)  -- IT was a pleasure to work on

Seems on both Tumblr and DeviantArt, the "Renaissance Era" one seems to be the most popular.  She definitely has the cutest face!
I think I'm most partial to the Betty and Veronica-like version, personally ;) -- Nothing like a puffy butt!  haha

I was a bit excited when you mentioned this project the first time, but now that I get to see it all, I'm astounded! The styles are all spot-on, and clearly recognizable! I have to say, my favorites are the last two, probably since I relate to them the most.

Thanks so much, Fawny :) -- "Astounded" is about the best praise I could dream to get, especially from someone whose own artwork I admire so highly.

It was a fun project to play around with -- the different styles and figuring out how to replicate them, etc.

Truthfully, the last two I think will please most, mainly due to our collective ages, but also because I did these all in order and the last ones are clearly much better than the first ones.  Got better and more "innovative" as I went ... which, I guess you could say mirrors the animation history I was trying to replicate, haha.  It was all a clever way to get me used to drawing with my tablet instead of a pencil and paper -- got much quicker as I went.  I cheated a lot -- tons of reference -- but I'm very pleased with the outcome :)

Thank you for your very kind comment, though :)

Probably the 1970's one. Just because it's a style I've never seen in ABDL art before.
